Top Navigation and Maps Apps Performance in Switzerland Q4 2024

In the fourth quarter of 2024, Switzerland's top navigation and maps applications showed varied performance trends across downloads and active users, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Polarsteps Travel saw its weekly downloads start at around 8.8K, dipping to 5.2K by late November, before recovering to approximately 9K by the end of December. Active users peaked at 131.6K in mid-October but declined to 97.3K as the quarter concluded.

Google Maps experienced a steady decline in downloads from 7.2K to 5.2K over the quarter. Active users also decreased from 4.4M at the start to about 3.9M by year-end.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a stable download range, starting at 3.3K and reaching a peak of 3.9K in late December. The app's active users fluctuated, beginning at 82.7K and closing the quarter at 80K.

Google Earth saw its downloads range from 2.7K to 3.3K, with a noticeable surge in the final weeks of December. Active users dropped from 66.8K in mid-October to 59.7K by the end of the quarter.

swisstopo downloads started at 4K, dipping to 1.3K in early December before rising to 3K by the end of the year. Active users showed a similar pattern, with a high of 273.6K in late October, decreasing to 130.2K in early December, then climbing back to 265.3K.
